Last week, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kimberly Harrington and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Energy Joshua Volz, as well as other representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy,
USAID – US Agency for International Development and local partner Talud LLP showcased the 96 solar panels that USAID’s Power Central Asia Activity installed atop Talud Shopping Center.
This marks a major milestone in Kazakhstan’s efforts for harnessing renewable energy. The solar panels atop Talud Shopping Center will reduce electricity costs and also eliminate 60,445 kg. of carbon dioxide emissions annually, the equivalent of planting 2,747 trees.
The U.S. Government is committed to supporting projects like this which have a positive impact on communities and our environment.
