From June 12 to 15, the USAID Power Central Asia Activity organized the Summer Camp: The Role of Women in the Energy Transition in Central Asia. The event took place at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications, bringing together 40 participants from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. These participants represented Central Asian universities, utilities, Ministries of Energy, and energy companies.
The event was designed to promote international cooperation, educational, and mentoring initiatives, with the goal of increasing the number of women leaders in the field of energy. Participants engaged in discussions about gender policy topics related to the energy sectors of regional countries, and their contributions extended to the development of regional cooperation and dialogue.
