On September 28, the USAID Power Central Asia Activity hosted an important workshop in Dushanbe for key power sector experts from the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, utility companies, and the regulator.
Experts presented the Transmission Network Development Master Plan, developed for up to 2040, that tackles Tajikistan’s growing power demand, renewable energy integration, and grid operation complexities. They presented static and dynamic stability analyses, grid development scenarios, network strengthening recommendations, and economic analysis results. The Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Sorbon Kholmuhamadzoda, kicked off the event, highlighting the importance of this plan in shaping Tajikistan’s transmission networks.
Events like this aim to gain the feedback of the energy professionals and fine-tune USAID’s work based on that. Once the Master Plan is complete, it will be a beacon for guiding informed decisions on expansion of Tajikistan’s electrical energy system ensuring reliable electricity supply to the customers.
