The government of Tajikistan received electrical equipment worth $6.5 million from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to enhance the power supply of Dushanbe and various regions of the republic.
The handover ceremony for over 59 containers with transformers, reactors, and other equipment was held at one of the main substations in Dushanbe.
Dignitaries, including the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan and the Ambassador of the United States to Tajikistan, were present at the ceremony, highlighting the importance of this collaboration. The installed equipment is planned to be utilized across essential energy facilities in both the capital and the regions.
Daler Juma, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, emphasized the significance of this equipment delivery. “The equipment will improve the power supply of the city of Dushanbe and ensure the reliability of the entire energy system of Tajikistan. Energy efficiency is also very important for us; there are mainly issues related to the quality of voltage in the Sughd region,” he stated.
